Powder for injection/infusion; reconstitute and administer IV (injection/infusion) or deep IM only as directed by a doctor. Dose and duration depend on infection severity and kidney function; complete the full course. May be given with or without food; ensure adequate hydration.
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, urticaria, injection site pain/phlebitis, headache, dizziness, candidiasis, elevated liver enzymes
Prescription-only antibiotic; use only for bacterial infections. Contraindicated in patients with history of hypersensitivity to penicillins/cephalosporins or prior amoxicillin-clavulanate–associated cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction. Stop and seek care if signs of anaphylaxis, severe skin reactions, or jaundice occur.
Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase INR/bleeding risk), allopurinol (increased rash risk), probenecid (increases amoxicillin levels), methotrexate (reduced clearance/toxicity risk), mycophenolate mofetil (reduced exposure), oral contraceptives (possible reduced efficacy—advise backup method)
