Treatment of acne vulgaris (comedonal and inflammatory acne) on the face and/or trunk

Trifarotene is a topical retinoid that selectively activates retinoic acid receptor (RAR)-gamma in the skin. It normalizes abnormal keratinization, helps prevent comedone formation, and reduces inflammation in acne lesions.

For external use only. Apply a thin layer once daily in the evening to clean, dry affected areas (face and/or trunk) as advised by a dermatologist. Use a pea-sized amount for face; avoid eyes, lips, nostrils and mucous membranes. Moisturizer and sunscreen (SPF) are recommended; reduce frequency if irritation occurs.

Skin irritation, redness (erythema), dryness, peeling/scaling, burning/stinging, itching (pruritus), photosensitivity

May cause irritation especially at start of therapy; avoid use on eczematous, sunburned, broken or abraded skin. Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning lamps; use sunscreen and protective clothing. Do not apply to eyes, lips or mucosa; rinse with water if contact occurs. Use caution with other irritating topical products (scrubs, astringents, alcohol-based products). Not for oral use.

Increased irritation with other topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha-hydroxy acids, abrasive cleansers or alcohol-based skincare; photosensitizing agents may increase sun sensitivity

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protect from light and excessive heat. Keep cap tightly closed; do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
