Treatment of allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) symptoms such as sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; helps in allergy-associated cough/wheezing in susceptible patients as advised by doctor.
Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce sneezing, itching, and runny nose. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks inflammatory leukotrienes, decreasing nasal congestion and allergy inflammation.
Oral tablet. Typically taken once daily in the evening or as prescribed. Can be taken with or without food; swallow with water. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea
May cause drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery if affected. Use with caution in liver disease. Montelukast has been associated with mood/behavior changes (agitation, anxiety, sleep disturbance, depression, suicidal thoughts); stop and seek medical help if these occur. Not for acute asthma attacks. Consult doctor for use in children, elderly, or if symptoms persist.
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), sedating antihistamines, rifampicin, phenytoin, phenobarbital (may reduce montelukast levels), carbamazepine
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
