Syrup
Relief of productive (wet) cough and chest congestion associated with colds, bronchitis or other respiratory tract infections.
This is likely a cough/expectorant syrup combination. Mucolytics thin and loosen mucus, expectorants help expel phlegm, and bronchodilators (if present) relax airway muscles to ease breathing.
Oral syrup. Shake well before use and measure with a cup/spoon. Take as prescribed by the doctor; can be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose, especially in children.
Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, tremor, palpitations, drowsiness
Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient. Use with caution in asthma/COPD patients, peptic ulcer disease, liver or kidney disease, thyroid disorders, hypertension or heart disease (especially if the product contains a bronchodilator). May cause drowsiness or dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or for children; do not use for prolonged cough (>7 days), recurrent fever, or coughing up blood.
May interact with other cough/cold medicines, sedatives/alcohol (increased drowsiness), beta-blockers (if bronchodilator present), MAO inhibitors/antidepressants, certain antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin) and diuretics (risk of low potassium with some bronchodilators).
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
Ambroxol syrup, Bromhexine syrup, Ambroxol + Guaiphenesin syrup, Ambroxol + Levosalbutamol + Guaiphenesin syrup, Terbutaline + Bromhexine + Guaiphenesin syrup
