Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single-drug therapy is inadequate

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow, lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that helps the body remove excess salt and water, reducing blood volume and blood pressure.

Take orally as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day; may be taken with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Dizziness, headache, ankle/foot swelling (edema), flushing, tiredness, increased urination, nausea, muscle cramps, low potassium, low sodium

Use with caution in kidney or liver disease, dehydration, gout, diabetes, and electrolyte imbalance. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes (especially potassium/sodium). Seek urgent help for severe allergic reaction, marked swelling, very low BP, or irregular heartbeat.

Other antihypertensives (additive BP lowering), NSAIDs (may reduce effect and worsen kidney function), lithium (increased toxicity with thiazides), corticosteroids/diuretics (electrolyte loss), digoxin (arrhythmia risk with low potassium), antidiabetic medicines (may alter glucose control), alcohol (increases dizziness)

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
