Cefopen-200 mg Tablet

Cefopen-200 mg Tablet contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil (200mg) and is used for bacterial infections. Prescription required.

Treatment of Bacterial infections

Cefopen 200mg Tablet DT is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall), which is needed for them to survive. This weakens the bacteria, causing them to die. As a result, the infection is controlled, and the body's immune system can effectively eliminate the remaining bacteria.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. Cefopen 200mg Tablet DT should be taken with or after food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Finish the whole course even after you feel better — stopping early breeds resistant bacteria. Tell your doctor if you have ever had a severe reaction to penicillin; a small proportion of people react to both groups. Report severe or watery loose motions during or after the course rather than treating them yourself. Several medicines in this group are on Schedule H1 precisely because overuse drives antibiotic resistance. Take it only when a doctor has prescribed it for you.

Antacids, iron and zinc reduce absorption — separate them by a couple of hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
