Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as acute bacterial tonsillitis/pharyngitis, acute otitis media, acute bronchitis/exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and enteric fever (typhoid) as prescribed.

Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell lysis and death of susceptible bacteria.

Oral dispersible tablet: dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water and consume immediately (or chew/swallow as advised). Take at the same time each day, with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course even if you feel better.

Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, indigestion, headache, dizziness, rash, itching, elevated liver enzymes

Use only for bacterial infections; misuse can lead to resistance. Do not use if allergic to cefixime/cephalosporins; use caution with penicillin allergy. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Seek medical help for severe allergy (swelling, breathing difficulty) or severe/persistent diarrhea (possible C. difficile-associated diarrhea). Inform doctor of history of colitis, liver disease, or if taking anticoagulants.

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase bleeding risk/INR), probenecid (may increase cefixime levels), live typhoid vaccine (reduced effect), antacids containing aluminum/magnesium (may reduce absorption if taken together)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
