Ointment
Used for inflammatory and itchy skin conditions such as eczema/dermatitis, allergic rashes, psoriasis, and other steroid-responsive dermatoses; may be used when secondary bacterial or fungal infection is suspected (depends on actual composition).
Topical corticosteroids (if present) reduce redness, swelling and itching by suppressing local inflammatory mediators in the skin. If combined with an antibacterial/antifungal, the additional agent kills or inhibits the growth of infection-causing microorganisms.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the affected skin as advised by a doctor, usually 1–2 times daily. Avoid use on face, groin, armpits or broken skin unless prescribed; wash hands after application; do not cover with tight bandage/occlusion unless told.
Burning, stinging, itching, dryness, redness, skin irritation, thinning of skin, skin discoloration, acne/folliculitis, stretch marks
Do not use for long durations or over large areas without medical advice (risk of steroid side effects and skin thinning). Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and mucous membranes. Stop and consult a doctor if severe irritation, worsening, or signs of allergy occur. Use cautiously in children (higher absorption), and avoid occlusive dressings unless prescribed. If product contains steroid + antimicrobial, avoid using for purely fungal/viral infections unless prescribed; inappropriate use can worsen infection.
No significant interactions expected with proper topical use; however, using multiple topical medicines on the same area may increase irritation or absorption. Concurrent use of other potent topical steroids may increase risk of side effects.
Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
