Monograph
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler (sodium hyaluronate) gel; strength/HA concentration not specified
Aesthetic dermal filler for correction of facial wrinkles and folds, restoration of facial volume/contours, and skin hydration (as per product variant/indication)
Cross-linked hyaluronic acid is injected into the dermis/subcutaneous tissue where it binds water and provides volume. It mechanically fills lines and supports tissues, improving contour and hydration over time as it gradually degrades.
For professional use only. Administer by trained healthcare professional via intradermal/subdermal injection using appropriate technique (needle/cannula) and aseptic precautions; avoid intravascular injection. Use as per product label and physician assessment; typically single-use prefilled syringe.
Injection site pain, redness, swelling, bruising, itching, tenderness, nodules/lumps, discoloration
Prescription/professional-use-only medical device. Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or with active skin infection/inflammation at injection site. Risk of vascular occlusion, tissue necrosis and vision loss if inadvertently injected into a vessel—requires immediate expert management. Use caution in patients on anticoagulants/antiplatelets (higher bruising). Not recommended in pregnancy/breastfeeding unless clearly needed; avoid in autoimmune disease/ongoing immunosuppression unless advised by specialist.
Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (e.g., warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel) may increase bruising/bleeding; concomitant topical/dermatologic procedures (laser, peel, dermabrasion) may increase inflammation if timed too close
Store as per label; generally at controlled room temperature, protect from light, do not freeze. Keep in original packaging; use before expiry; do not use if pack is damaged.
