Dersol 12 Ointment

Dersol 12 Ointment contains Salicylic Acid (12%w/w).

Used as a keratolytic for thickened/scaly skin such as corns, calluses, warts (as directed), and hyperkeratotic conditions.

Salicylic acid softens keratin and breaks down the outer layer of thickened skin. This helps gradual shedding of dead skin and reduces hard, scaly buildup.

Apply sparingly only to the affected thickened area once daily or as prescribed. Avoid surrounding normal skin; a protective barrier (e.g., petroleum jelly) may be applied around the lesion. Do not use on face, genitals or broken/irritated skin.

Skin irritation, burning, stinging, redness, peeling

For external use only. Avoid large-area application, prolonged use, or use in children without medical advice due to risk of salicylate toxicity. Do not use in diabetic patients, peripheral vascular disease, or neuropathy unless advised. Stop if severe irritation occurs.

Using other topical irritants/peeling agents (retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, strong soaps) may increase irritation. May increase absorption of other topical medicines applied to same area.

Store below 25°C, protect from heat and direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed.
