Treatment of major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic musculoskeletal pain (as prescribed).

Duloxetine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It increases serotonin and noradrenaline levels in the brain and spinal cord, improving mood and reducing pain signal transmission.

Take by mouth as directed by the physician, preferably at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet whole with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, sleepiness, insomnia, constipation, decreased appetite, sweating, fatigue, headache

Prescription-only medicine. Do not use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping an MAOI; risk of serotonin syndrome. Use with caution in liver disease, severe kidney disease, uncontrolled hypertension, seizure disorders, bipolar disorder/mania, glaucoma, and in elderly (fall risk). Monitor for suicidal thoughts especially at treatment start or dose changes. May cause withdrawal symptoms if stopped abruptly. Can increase bleeding risk when combined with NSAIDs/anticoagulants. Not recommended in severe hepatic impairment.

MAO inhibitors (contraindicated), other serotonergic drugs (SSRIs/SNRIs/triptans/linezolid/lithium) and tramadol (serotonin syndrome), CYP1A2 inhibitors (fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacin) may increase levels, CYP2D6 inhibitors/substrates (paroxetine, quinidine, some antipsychotics) interactions, anticoagulants/antiplatelets/NSAIDs (bleeding risk), alcohol (liver/CNS risk)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
