Pyritinol (100mg)
Symptomatic management of cognitive impairment such as memory and concentration difficulties; used in conditions like dementia/cerebrovascular insufficiency as supportive therapy (as prescribed).
Pyritinol is a nootropic related to vitamin B6. It is thought to improve glucose uptake and metabolism in brain cells and enhance cholinergic neurotransmission, thereby supporting cognitive functions such as memory and attention.
Tablet for oral use. Take as directed by the physician, preferably at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food (take with food if it upsets the stomach). Swallow with water; do not crush unless advised.
Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, insomnia, rash, pruritus
Use only on medical advice. Use with caution in liver or kidney disease and in patients with autoimmune disorders (rare hypersensitivity reactions reported). Stop and seek medical help if severe rash, fever, jaundice, dark urine, or other allergic symptoms occur. Not intended for self-medication for memory problems—evaluate underlying causes. Driving: may cause dizziness in some people.
Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) may have enhanced effect/bleeding risk; immunosuppressants/DMARDs (caution due to immune-related adverse reactions); other CNS-acting medicines (additive effects possible).
