Productive (wet) cough with thick mucus, acute and chronic bronchitis, COPD and other respiratory tract infections/conditions where mucus needs to be thinned and expelled

Erdosteine is a mucolytic that breaks disulfide bonds in mucus, reducing its viscosity. This helps loosen phlegm, improves mucociliary clearance, and makes coughing out mucus easier.

Take as directed by physician. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or without food; if stomach upset occurs, take after food. Maintain adequate hydration.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, heartburn/indigestion, headache, dizziness, skin rash

Use with caution in liver or kidney impairment; dose adjustment may be required. Stop and seek medical help if allergic reaction (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty) occurs. Not meant for dry cough without mucus unless prescribed. Use caution in patients with history of peptic ulcer. Do not exceed prescribed duration; consult doctor if symptoms persist, fever develops, or breathing worsens.

May increase gastric irritation with NSAIDs, possible additive effect with other mucolytics/expectorants; no major clinically significant interactions commonly reported—inform doctor about all medicines including antibiotics, bronchodilators and cough syrups

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
