Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes) and chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives, itching).

Fexofenadine is a second-generation antihistamine (H1 receptor blocker). It prevents histamine from binding to H1 receptors, reducing allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching and wheals. It causes minimal sedation compared to older antihistamines.

Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed, commonly 1 tablet once daily; swallow with water. Preferably take at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food, but avoid taking with fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit).

Headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, drowsiness (rare), dry mouth

Use with caution in kidney impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). Avoid fruit juices as they can reduce absorption; take with water. Use caution when driving/operating machinery until you know how it affects you (usually non-sedating). Consult a doctor before use in children, during pregnancy/breastfeeding, or if symptoms persist/worsen.

Antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (reduce absorption—separate by 2 hours), erythromycin, ketoconazole, ritonavir, fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit—reduce absorption)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
