Treatment of superficial fungal skin infections such as ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), cutaneous candidiasis and pityriasis (tinea) versicolor.
Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis by blocking 14‑alpha demethylase. This damages the fungal cell membrane and stops growth, leading to clearance of infection.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer once or twice daily as advised by the doctor. Continue for the full prescribed duration even if symptoms improve; wash hands after application and avoid contact with eyes, mouth and broken skin.
Burning, itching, redness, irritation, dryness, stinging, rash
For external use only. Avoid use on eyes/mucosa; rinse with water if accidental contact occurs. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation, blistering or allergic reaction occurs. Use with caution in children and on large areas/under occlusion unless prescribed. If no improvement in 2–4 weeks or infection worsens, consult a doctor.
No significant interactions expected with topical use; concomitant use with other topical products on the same area may increase irritation. If using topical corticosteroids, taper steroid as advised to avoid rebound symptoms.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from heat and direct light. Keep cap tightly closed and out of reach of children.
