Lumadip Cream

Lumadip Cream contains Hydroquinone (1% w/v) + Tretinoin (0.125% w/v) + Allantoin (1% w/v) and is used for melasma. Prescription required.

Melasma

Lumadip Cream is a combination of three medicines : Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, Allantoin that treat melasma. Hydroquinone is a depigmenting or skin bleaching agent. It produces lightening of your skin by decreasing the number of melanocytes (those specialized cells that make melanin, the pigment in your skin that produces your skin tone) present or produced in your skin. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that helps the skin to renew itself more quickly. Allantoin is a skin protectant which works as a moisturizer and relieves minor skin irritations.

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. Stop if the skin becomes more irritated, and see a doctor if the condition worsens or spreads. Do a small test patch first if you have sensitive skin. Acne often looks worse for the first two to four weeks before it improves. This is expected — do not stop. Use sunscreen every day. These medicines make the skin burn much more easily. Oral isotretinoin must never be taken in pregnancy — it causes severe birth defects. Reliable contraception and the pregnancy tests your dermatologist requires are essential before, during and after the course. Start with alternate nights and build up, and do not use more than a pea-sized amount for the whole face. Do not combine several strong acne actives at once without advice — the irritation compounds. Apply generously and often — several times a day, and always within a few minutes of a bath while the skin is still damp. Some paraffin-based emollients are flammable when they soak into clothing and bedding. Keep away from open flames and cigarettes. Stop if the skin becomes more red, itchy or sore after use.

No significant interactions are expected from preparations used on the skin. Do not combine with other peeling agents or with waxing and harsh scrubs. Oral retinoids must not be combined with tetracycline antibiotics. No significant interactions are expected.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from direct light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
