Neuropathic (nerve) pain such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, neuropathy due to nerve compression; vitamin B12 deficiency–related neuropathy; tingling, numbness and burning pain.
Pregabalin reduces release of pain-signalling neurotransmitters by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the nervous system, thereby decreasing nerve pain. Methylcobalamin is an active form of vitamin B12 that helps repair and maintain nerve myelin and supports nerve regeneration.
Take exactly as prescribed. Swallow tablet whole with water, with or without food (food may reduce dizziness). Usually taken once daily at night or in divided doses; take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly—dose should be tapered under medical advice.
Dizziness, sleepiness (somnolence), fatigue, blurred vision, dry mouth, weight gain, swelling of legs/feet (peripheral edema), constipation, difficulty concentrating
May cause dizziness/drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know the effect. Do not stop abruptly (risk of withdrawal symptoms or worsening pain). Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment needed). Can cause weight gain and edema; caution in heart failure. Rarely may cause mood changes/suicidal thoughts—seek medical help if depression or unusual behavior occurs. Hypersensitivity reactions (rash, swelling) require immediate medical attention.
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), opioids (e.g., tramadol, morphine—risk of sedation/respiratory depression), benzodiazepines and sleep medicines, antihistamines with sedative effect, ACE inhibitors (rare risk of angioedema), antidiabetic medicines (may add to weight gain/edema).
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
