Melano Tx Tab

Used for treatment of melasma and other hyperpigmentation (dark patches) on the skin.

Typically contains tranexamic acid, which reduces plasmin activity and downstream inflammatory mediators involved in melanocyte activation. This helps decrease excess melanin production and improves hyperpigmentation over time.

Take as prescribed by a dermatologist. Usually taken orally at the same time each day; can be taken with or without food (take after food if stomach upset occurs). Do not self-medicate or exceed the prescribed duration.

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, headache, dizziness, menstrual irregularities

Use only under medical supervision. Tranexamic acid (commonly used in melasma tablets) can increase risk of blood clots; avoid/use with caution in history of deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke, thrombophilia, or with prolonged immobilization. Seek urgent care for chest pain, breathlessness, leg swelling/pain, sudden vision changes, or severe headache. Use caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Not recommended with combined hormonal contraceptives unless doctor advises. Regular follow-up is advised; use broad-spectrum sunscreen alongside treatment.
