Montair 4 Chewable Tablet Strawberry

Montair 4 Chewable Tablet Strawberry contains Montelukast 4 mg (chewable tablet) and is used for prevention and long-term. Prescription required.

Prevention and long-term treatment of asthma in children, prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, relief of allergic rhinitis symptoms (seasonal/perennial)

Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It blocks cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors in the airways and nasal mucosa, reducing inflammation, bronchoconstriction, mucus production and allergy symptoms.

Chew the tablet completely before swallowing. Usually taken once daily as prescribed; for asthma, commonly in the evening. Can be taken with or without food. Not for sudden asthma attacks—use a rescue inhaler if prescribed.

Headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, fever, cough, sore throat, tiredness

Not indicated for acute bronchospasm/status asthmaticus. Do not stop or reduce inhaled corticosteroids abruptly without medical advice. Neuropsychiatric events (e.g., agitation, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts/behaviour) have been reported—seek medical help if mood/behaviour changes occur. Use with caution in hepatic impairment. Phenylketonuria (PKU): check label for aspartame/phenylalanine content if applicable.

Rifampicin may reduce montelukast levels, phenobarbital may reduce montelukast levels, gemfibrozil may increase montelukast exposure, phenytoin may reduce montelukast levels

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
