Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) with symptoms such as sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itching and watery eyes; allergy-associated cough/wheezing and urticaria where montelukast benefit is desired (as prescribed).

Fexofenadine is a non-sedating H1 antihistamine that blocks histamine-mediated allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching and watery eyes. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks leukotrienes to reduce nasal congestion, inflammation and allergy-related bronchospasm.

Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, usually 1 tablet once daily; commonly taken in the evening for allergic rhinitis. Can be taken with or without food; swallow with water. Avoid taking with fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit) and keep a gap of at least 2 hours from aluminium/magnesium antacids.

Headache,drowsiness (rare),dizziness,nausea,diarrhoea,dry mouth,fatigue,abdominal pain,upper respiratory tract infection symptoms

Not a rescue medicine for acute asthma attack. Montelukast has been associated with neuropsychiatric effects (agitation, abnormal dreams, insomnia, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts); stop and seek medical advice if such symptoms occur. Use with caution in liver disease. Avoid fruit juices which reduce fexofenadine absorption; separate from Al/Mg antacids. If severe allergic reaction, swelling, breathing difficulty or rash occurs, seek urgent care.

Aluminium/magnesium antacids (reduced fexofenadine absorption),fruit juices (reduced fexofenadine absorption),CYP inducers like rifampicin/phenytoin/phenobarbital may reduce montelukast levels,gemfibrozil may increase montelukast exposure,other sedatives/alcohol may add to dizziness in sensitive patients

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from moisture and direct light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
