Tablet
Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) with symptoms such as sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; allergy-related cough/wheezing symptoms where leukotriene blockade is beneficial.
Fexofenadine is a second-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to reduce sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Montelukast blocks leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors to reduce inflammation, nasal congestion and allergy-related bronchial symptoms.
Tablet is usually taken once daily as advised by the doctor, preferably in the evening; can be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, dry mouth, fatigue
Use with caution in liver disease (montelukast) and in patients with history of neuropsychiatric symptoms; montelukast has been associated rarely with mood/behavior changes (agitation, sleep disturbances, depression, suicidal thoughts)—seek medical help if these occur. Not for acute asthma attack. Avoid driving if you feel drowsy/dizzy. Use in children only if specifically prescribed (strength may not be suitable).
Rifampicin, phenytoin, phenobarbital (may reduce montelukast levels); ketoconazole/gemfibrozil (may increase montelukast exposure); antacids containing aluminium/magnesium may reduce fexofenadine absorption (separate by ~2 hours); fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit) can reduce fexofenadine absorption; other sedating medicines may increase dizziness/drowsiness.
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
