Before you take it
Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.<br>Monitor the breastfed baby’s blood sugar during treatment with Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet

Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin, a natural substance that helps control blood sugar levels.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pioglaz 15mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet is recommended.<br>Use of Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients undergoing dialysis.
Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Use of Pioglaz 15 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If you feel shaky, sweaty, confused or unusually hungry, take sugar, glucose or a sweet drink at once and tell your doctor — these are signs your blood sugar has fallen too low. If a low-sugar episode happens while on an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor such as voglibose or acarbose, use glucose — ordinary sugar and sweets work more slowly. Tell your doctor about any new swelling of the ankles, breathlessness or sudden weight gain.
Low blood sugar is more likely when combined with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
