Pregalin M SR 75

Pregabalin 75 mg (sustained release)

Neuropathic (nerve) pain such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia; may also be used for other neuropathic pain conditions as prescribed

Pregabalin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This reduces release of excitatory neurotransmitters and decreases abnormal nerve signaling, thereby relieving neuropathic pain.

Tablet (SR): Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily. Swallow whole with water; do not crush, chew or break. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly—taper only on doctor’s advice.

Dizziness, sleepiness (somnolence), blurred vision, dry mouth, swelling of hands/feet (peripheral edema), weight gain, fatigue, headache, constipation, difficulty concentrating

May cause dizziness and drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery until you know the effect. Do not stop abruptly (risk of withdrawal symptoms). Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment needed), heart failure/edema, history of substance misuse, and in elderly (higher fall risk). Seek urgent help for allergic reactions/angioedema, severe skin rash, new or worsening depression/suicidal thoughts, or breathing difficulty (especially with other sedatives/opioids).

Alcohol, opioids (e.g., tramadol, morphine), benzodiazepines and other CNS depressants (additive drowsiness/respiratory depression), antihistamines/sedatives, ACE inhibitors (increased risk of angioedema), thiazolidinediones like pioglitazone/rosiglitazone (increased edema/weight gain)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
