Monograph
Ring Guard 20G contains Clotrimazole 1% w/w cream.
Treatment of fungal skin infections such as ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and cutaneous candidiasis.
Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. This damages the membrane, stops fungal growth, and helps clear the infection.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the affected skin and surrounding area 2-3 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Continue treatment for at least 2 weeks (often 2-4 weeks) and for 1-2 weeks after symptoms improve to prevent recurrence.
Burning, stinging, irritation, itching, redness, dryness, peeling
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and broken skin. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation/allergy occurs or if no improvement after 2 weeks (or worsening). Do not cover with airtight dressings unless advised. Keep away from children. If infection is widespread, recurrent, or in immunocompromised patients, consult a doctor.
No significant drug interactions expected with topical use; avoid using other topical products on the same area unless advised as it may increase irritation.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from heat, direct sunlight, and moisture. Keep cap tightly closed.
