Adjunct in management of acute diarrhea (including infectious diarrhea), antibiotic-associated diarrhea, traveller’s diarrhea; helps restore normal gut flora

Saccharomyces boulardii is a probiotic yeast that helps restore intestinal microbial balance. It can inhibit growth/toxin effects of some harmful organisms and supports gut barrier and immune response, reducing duration and frequency of diarrhea.

Oral powder/sachet. Mix the contents in water, ORS, milk, or soft food and consume immediately; preferably after food unless advised otherwise. Avoid mixing with very hot liquids. Dose and duration as prescribed by a doctor.

Bloating, flatulence, constipation, nausea, abdominal discomfort

Use with caution in immunocompromised patients, critically ill patients, or those with central venous catheters due to rare risk of fungemia; stop and seek medical care if fever, worsening diarrhea, blood in stools, or dehydration occurs. Not a substitute for rehydration—continue ORS/fluids. Consult doctor for children, pregnancy, or persistent symptoms >48 hours.

Antifungal medicines (e.g., fluconazole, itraconazole, amphotericin B, nystatin) may reduce effect; separate from antibiotics if advised though generally can be used together for antibiotic-associated diarrhea

Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct light; keep below 25°C if possible; do not use if sachet is damaged.
