Levosalbutamol (0.63mg)
Relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness
Levosalbutamol is a selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist. It relaxes bronchial smooth muscles, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow, providing quick relief from bronchospasm.
For inhalation via nebuliser only. Use the respule content as prescribed; typically nebulised using a compressor nebuliser, with or without dilution with normal saline as advised. Use at regular intervals; do not swallow or inject. Rinse mouth after nebulisation if advised and clean nebuliser parts after use.
Tremor,headache,nervousness,palpitations,tachycardia,dizziness,nausea,throat irritation,cough,muscle cramps
Use with caution in heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and seizure disorders. May cause paradoxical bronchospasm (worsening wheeze) — stop and seek medical help if it occurs. Excess use can cause low potassium and serious cardiac effects. If symptoms are not relieved or need for rescue doses increases, consult a doctor promptly.
Beta-blockers (may reduce effect and trigger bronchospasm),other sympathomimetics (additive side effects),MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants (increased cardiovascular effects),diuretics and corticosteroids (may increase hypokalaemia risk),digoxin (may lower digoxin levels)
Store below 25°C, protect from light, keep in original pack, do not freeze. Use immediately after opening the respule; discard any unused solution.
