Samfibre-90 G contains Lactitol (10gm) + Ispaghula (3.5gm) and is used for constipation.

Treatment of Constipation

Samfibre Powder is a combination of lactitol monohydrate and ispaghula. Lactitol monohydrate works by increasing peristalsis (contractions) in the colon, leading to an increase in the number of bowel movements. Ispaghula husk works by absorbing water and increasing stool volume, making it softer and easier to pass out.

Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Samfibre Powder should be taken with or after food.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Drink plenty of water while taking any laxative, particularly the fibre-based ones — without it they can make constipation worse. Do not use stimulant laxatives daily over long periods without medical advice; the bowel becomes reliant on them. See a doctor if constipation is new and persistent in an adult over forty, or comes with blood, weight loss or severe pain.

Laxatives can reduce the absorption of other medicines taken at the same time.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
