Treatment of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei infestation); may also be used for body lice (pediculosis corporis) as advised by a doctor.

Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that disrupts sodium channel function in parasites, causing paralysis and death of mites and their eggs. It acts locally on the skin with minimal systemic absorption when used as directed.

For external use only. For scabies: apply a thin layer over clean, dry skin from neck to soles (include between fingers/toes, under nails, groin, buttocks; scalp/face only if advised), leave on 8–14 hours (overnight), then wash off. Usually a single application is effective; repeat after 7 days only if advised or if symptoms persist. Treat close contacts simultaneously and wash clothes/bed linen in hot water or seal for 72 hours.

Mild burning/stinging, itching, redness, dryness, tingling/numbness, rash, swelling at application site

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes; rinse with water if contact occurs. Do not use on broken/inflamed skin unless advised. Itching may persist for 2–4 weeks after successful treatment (post-scabetic pruritus) and does not always mean treatment failure. Seek medical help for severe irritation, allergy, or secondary infection. Use in infants/young children only under medical supervision; ensure careful application and prevent accidental ingestion.

No clinically significant drug interactions expected with topical use; avoid using other irritant topical products (harsh soaps, alcohol-based lotions) on the same areas unless advised.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light. Keep container tightly closed and out of reach of children.
