Treatment of signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) such as difficulty in urination, weak urine stream, frequent urination, and incomplete bladder emptying.

Silodosin is a selective alpha-1A adrenergic receptor blocker that relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. This reduces resistance to urine flow and improves urinary symptoms associated with BPH.

Take as directed by the physician, usually once daily after the same meal each day. Swallow the tablet/capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew. If a dose is missed, take it the next day at the usual time (do not double the dose).

May cause dizziness or fainting especially when starting treatment or after dose increases; rise slowly from sitting/lying positions. Use with caution in severe kidney impairment and avoid in severe liver impairment. Inform doctor if you have low blood pressure, kidney/liver disease, or are scheduled for cataract/glaucoma surgery (risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome). Not indicated for women or children.

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, clarithromycin),other alpha-blockers (e.g., tamsulosin, alfuzosin),PDE5 inhibitors (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil) and antihypertensives (additive blood pressure lowering),moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., diltiazem, verapamil)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
