Softcal Lotion

Softcal Lotion contains Calamine (8%w/v) + Liquid Paraffin (10%v/v) and is used for this medicine is used.

This medicine is used in the treatment of skin conditions, skin care, constipation and bowel preparation.

This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Calamine and Liquid Paraffin. Calamine acts on the skin to treat or soothe the condition it is prescribed for. Liquid Paraffin softens the stool and encourages the bowel to move, making it easier to pass.

Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer and rub it in gently. Wash your hands before and after use, unless your hands are the area being treated. This is for use on the skin only — do not swallow it. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Local irritation, Redness, Itching, Dryness, Cramping, Bloating, Flatulence, Loose motions, Nausea

For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. Stop if the skin becomes more irritated, and see a doctor if the condition worsens or spreads. Do a small test patch first if you have sensitive skin. Drink plenty of water while taking any laxative, particularly the fibre-based ones — without it they can make constipation worse. Do not use stimulant laxatives daily over long periods without medical advice; the bowel becomes reliant on them. See a doctor if constipation is new and persistent in an adult over forty, or comes with blood, weight loss or severe pain.

No significant interactions are expected from preparations used on the skin. Laxatives can reduce the absorption of other medicines taken at the same time.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.
