Monograph
Gel
For symptomatic relief in mouth ulcers (aphthous ulcers) and minor oral mucosal irritation; helps reduce pain/burning and discomfort in the mouth.
Mouth ulcer gels typically provide local soothing and pain relief by forming a protective layer over the ulcer and/or using a local anesthetic/anti-inflammatory agent to reduce pain and irritation. Exact mechanism depends on the active ingredients (not available for this product).
Apply a small amount of gel directly on the affected area inside the mouth using a clean finger/cotton bud. Avoid eating or drinking for at least 20–30 minutes after application. Use as directed on the label or by a doctor/dentist.
Temporary burning or stinging at application site, numbness/altered taste, local irritation, dryness, allergic reaction (rare)
For oral use only. Do not apply on large areas or for prolonged periods without medical advice. Stop use and seek medical help if rash/swelling occurs, ulcers persist beyond 7–10 days, recur frequently, are very large, or are accompanied by fever. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed in large amount, seek medical advice.
If the product contains a local anesthetic or antiseptic, interactions are usually minimal when used topically; avoid using multiple oral ulcer gels/lozenges with similar ingredients simultaneously. Exact interactions depend on composition (unknown).
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Keep the cap tightly closed. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
