Soap
Medicated soap used as an adjunct in skin conditions associated with scaling, itching or dandruff-like flaking such as seborrheic dermatitis/dandruff, psoriasis and eczema (supportive care).
Tar-based medicated soaps (coal tar) reduce excessive scaling and help slow down rapid skin cell turnover. They also have mild anti-itch and anti-inflammatory effects that can help relieve irritation and flaking.
For external use only. Wet skin, apply soap and work into lather; leave on the affected area for 1–2 minutes if tolerated, then rinse thoroughly. Use once daily or as advised by a doctor; avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Skin irritation, dryness, redness, burning/stinging, itching, rash, increased sensitivity to sunlight, allergic reaction (rare)
External use only. Discontinue and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling, blistering or allergy occurs. Avoid use on broken/infected skin unless advised by a clinician. May increase photosensitivity—limit sun exposure and use sunscreen on exposed areas. Avoid contact with eyes; rinse with water if contact occurs. Use with caution in children and during pregnancy/breastfeeding; consult a doctor if using over large areas or for prolonged periods.
May increase irritation when used with other topical keratolytics/exfoliants (e.g., salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide), topical retinoids, or other harsh soaps/detergents. If using other medicated topical treatments, separate application times as advised by a clinician.
Store at room temperature (below 30°C), in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
