Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single or dual therapy is insufficient; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events associated with uncontrolled BP as per physician advice.
Telmisartan (an ARB) relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II receptors. Amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) reduces vascular resistance by relaxing arterial smooth muscle. Hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic) lowers blood pressure by removing excess salt and water through urine.
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow whole with water. Monitor blood pressure regularly and do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
Dizziness, headache, ankle swelling (edema), flushing, fatigue, increased urination, nausea, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance (low potassium/sodium), increased uric acid, muscle cramps
Use with caution in kidney or liver disease, dehydration, low blood pressure, heart failure, or electrolyte imbalance. Periodic monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is recommended. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Not recommended in pregnancy; avoid if planning pregnancy. Use caution in gout/raised uric acid and diabetes (may affect glucose).
Other antihypertensives, diuretics, NSAIDs (may reduce effect and affect kidneys), lithium (toxicity risk), potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics or salt substitutes (high potassium risk), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (increased kidney/hyperkalemia risk—avoid in diabetes), corticosteroids (electrolyte changes), digoxin (levels may change), antidiabetic medicines (dose adjustment may be needed)
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
