Tryptomer 10 Tablet contains Amitriptyline (10mg). Prescription required.

Depression, neuropathic (nerve) pain, migraine/tension-type headache prophylaxis (as prescribed), chronic pain conditions (adjunct)

Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that increases levels of serotonin and noradrenaline in the brain by inhibiting their reuptake. It also has pain-modulating and sedative effects, which can help in neuropathic pain and headache prevention.

Take exactly as prescribed. Swallow the tablet with water. Often taken at bedtime due to drowsiness; can be taken with or without food. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice; dose is usually started low and increased gradually.

Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, weight gain, nausea, increased appetite, difficulty passing urine, postural hypotension

May cause marked drowsiness—avoid driving/operating machinery. Risk of suicidal thoughts especially at start of therapy or dose changes; seek help if mood worsens. Use with caution in glaucoma, urinary retention/prostatic enlargement, epilepsy, thyroid disease, liver disease, and cardiovascular disease (may cause arrhythmias); ECG monitoring may be needed in some patients. Do not use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them. Not recommended in recent myocardial infarction. May cause serotonin syndrome when combined with serotonergic drugs. Avoid abrupt discontinuation (withdrawal symptoms).

MAO inhibitors, SSRIs/SNRIs and other serotonergic drugs (e.g., tramadol, linezolid) , alcohol and CNS depressants, anticholinergics, antihypertensives (additive hypotension), QT-prolonging drugs/antiarrhythmics, cimetidine (may increase levels), carbamazepine/phenytoin (may reduce levels), warfarin (monitor), clonidine (reduced effect)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
