Uv Doux Sunscreen Gel is a medicine containing Octinoxate, Oxybenzone, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide (strengths not specified). It is used for broad-spectrum photoprotection to help prevent sunburn, tanning, helps reduce risk of photoaging (fine lines, dark spots), sun-induced pigmentation, suitable for daily use and for photosensitive skin as advised by dermatologist. It belongs to the group of medicines called Topical UV filters (chemical and physical sunscreens).
For external use only. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Uv Doux Sunscreen Gel are mild burning or stinging, redness, itching and dryness. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Uv Doux Sunscreen Gel works.
Most side effects of Uv Doux Sunscreen are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
For external use only. Apply a generous, even layer on face and exposed skin 15–20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2–3 hours, and after swimming, sweating, or towel-drying. Can be used daily; avoid contact with eyes and broken/irritated skin.
It combines organic (chemical) UV filters and inorganic (mineral) filters to provide broad-spectrum protection. Chemical filters absorb UV radiation and convert it to harmless heat, while zinc oxide and titanium dioxide reflect and scatter UVA/UVB rays.
Do a patch test if you have sensitive skin. Stop use and consult a doctor if rash, swelling, or severe irritation occurs. Avoid eyes; rinse with water if contact occurs. Not for use on open wounds. Use with caution in children; consult a doctor for infants. Sunscreen is one part of sun protection—use protective clothing and limit midday sun.
Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed one — applying extra does not make up for it.
An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from skin use; swallowing the preparation may cause stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
No significant systemic drug interactions expected with topical sunscreen; concomitant use with irritating topical agents (retinoids, AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliants) may increase dryness/irritation.
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep cap tightly closed; keep out of reach of children.
