Viscodyne C Syrup

Viscodyne C Syrup contains Bromhexine (4mg) + Salbutamol (2mg) + Guaifenesin (100mg). Prescription required.

Symptomatic relief of cough associated with common cold/upper respiratory tract infections, throat irritation and chest congestion.

This cough syrup typically combines a cough suppressant to reduce the cough reflex and expectorant/mucolytic components to loosen mucus and ease its expulsion. Antihistamine/decongestant components (if present) may reduce runny nose and sneezing. Exact mechanism depends on the active ingredients in this brand variant.

Shake well before use. Measure dose with a cup/spoon. Usually taken 2–3 times daily as advised by a doctor; may be taken with or without food. Do not exceed recommended dose; avoid combining with other cough/cold products unless advised.

Use with caution in asthma/COPD, excessive sputum, liver or kidney disease, glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, thyroid disease, hypertension or heart disease (depending on ingredients). Not recommended for children without medical advice. Do not use longer than advised; seek medical care if cough persists >7 days, is recurrent, or occurs with fever, rash, or persistent headache. If product contains opioid/antihistamine, risk of sedation and respiratory depression increases with overdose.
