Viscojoy AB Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Acebrophylline (100mg) + Acetylcysteine (600mg). It is used for treatment. It belongs to the group of medicines called Expectorant / mucolytic / bronchodilator.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Viscojoy AB Tablet are nausea, vomiting, stomach upset and drowsiness. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Viscojoy AB Tablet works.

Most side effects of Viscojoy AB are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Viscojoy AB 100mg/600mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Viscojoy AB 100mg/600mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: acebrophylline and acetylcysteine. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic and bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways and also thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to breathe. Acetylcysteine is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
See a doctor if a cough lasts more than a week, or comes with fever, breathlessness, chest pain or blood in the sputum. Do not give cough and cold preparations to young children except on a doctor's advice. Do not combine two cough preparations — they frequently contain the same ingredients, and the doses add up. Preparations containing codeine can cause dependence and must be used only for the period your doctor specifies.
If you miss a dose of Viscojoy AB 100mg/600mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe drowsiness, a racing heart and, with codeine, dangerously slow breathing. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
