Contains: Voglibose (0.3mg)
Voglidase 0.3 mg Tablet contains Voglibose (0.3mg) and is used for type 2 diabetes. Prescription required.
Voglidase 0.3 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Voglibose (0.3mg). It is used for type 2 diabetes. It belongs to the group of medicines called Oral anti-diabetic.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Voglidase 0.3 mg Tablet are flatulence, loose motions, stomach discomfort and swelling of the ankles and feet. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Voglidase 0.3 mg Tablet works.
This medicine is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
Most side effects of Voglidase are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with the first mouthful of a meal. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Voglibose helps control blood sugar, particularly the rise that follows a meal.
If you feel shaky, sweaty, confused or unusually hungry, take sugar, glucose or a sweet drink at once and tell your doctor — these are signs your blood sugar has fallen too low. If a low-sugar episode happens while on an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor such as voglibose or acarbose, use glucose — ordinary sugar and sweets work more slowly. Tell your doctor about any new swelling of the ankles, breathlessness or sudden weight gain.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine may cause low blood sugar and marked stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Low blood sugar is more likely when combined with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
