Treatment of acid peptic disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, gastritis and peptic (gastric/duodenal) ulcers; used to relieve heartburn and acid reflux symptoms.

Vonoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB). It directly inhibits the gastric H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in a rapid and sustained manner, reducing stomach acid secretion and allowing ulcers/erosions to heal.

Take as directed by your doctor. Usually taken once daily; swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Do not crush or chew.

Use with caution in severe liver disease. Long-term acid suppression may increase risk of low magnesium, vitamin B12 deficiency and gastrointestinal infections; consult doctor if diarrhea is severe/persistent. Seek medical advice if alarm symptoms occur (unexplained weight loss, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, blood in vomit/black stools). Inform your doctor about all medicines and pregnancy/breastfeeding status.

May reduce absorption of drugs needing acidic pH (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, erlotinib, atazanavir/rilpivirine). Acid suppression can alter exposure of digoxin and iron salts. Check for interactions if used with anticoagulants/antiplatelets or other acid-suppressing medicines; follow prescriber advice.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
