Winsect Shampoo

Winsect Shampoo contains Ivermectin (0.5%w/v) and is used for this medicine is used. Prescription required.

This medicine is used in the treatment of worm infestation, parasitic infection, amoebiasis and giardiasis.

Ivermectin paralyses or kills the parasite, so that it is passed out of the body.

Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer and rub it in gently. Wash your hands before and after use, unless your hands are the area being treated. This is for use on the skin only — do not swallow it. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Nausea, Stomach pain, Loose motions, Headache, Dizziness

Treat the whole household at the same time for worm infestations, or reinfection is likely. Wash hands thoroughly after using the toilet and before eating, keep nails short, and wash bedding and underclothes in hot water. Do not drink alcohol with metronidazole, ornidazole, tinidazole or secnidazole. A repeat dose after a couple of weeks is often advised for worms — follow your doctor's instruction.

Tell your doctor if you take anti-epileptic medicines or a blood thinner.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.
