Uses & Benefits
Relief from acidity, heartburn, sour stomach, indigestion, gas/bloating and dyspepsia
How It Works
Sodium bicarbonate acts as an antacid by neutralizing excess stomach acid. Peppermint and ginger help reduce gastric discomfort and spasms, while aromatic ammonia acts as a carminative to relieve gas.
Directions for Use
Oral liquid. Shake well before use. Take the measured dose as directed on the label or by a doctor, usually after meals and at bedtime or when required. Can be taken with or without food; do not exceed recommended dose.
Use with caution in kidney disease, heart failure, hypertension, fluid/sodium restriction, metabolic alkalosis, and in patients on a low-salt diet (contains sodium). Avoid prolonged or excessive use; overuse may cause electrolyte imbalance and alkalosis. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist, recur frequently, or are accompanied by severe abdominal pain, vomiting or blood in stools. Not recommended for children unless prescribed.
Drug Interactions
May affect absorption of other oral medicines due to pH change; separate from other medicines by 2-3 hours. Use caution with sodium-containing products, diuretics/corticosteroids (electrolyte imbalance risk) and medicines affected by urine pH (e.g., salicylates).
