Xylocaine Ear Drops 10 ml

Xylocaine Ear Drops 10 ml contains Lidocaine (2% w/v) + Clotrimazole (1% w/v) and is used for fungal infections. Prescription required.

Treatment of Fungal infections

Xylocaine Ear Drop is a combination of two medicines: Lidocaine and Clotrimazole, which treats ear infections. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain, thereby decreasing pain sensation in the ear. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi in the ear by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside ear.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. See a doctor for a deep, dirty or heavily bleeding wound, an animal bite, or any wound showing signs of infection. Check that your tetanus cover is current after any dirty or penetrating wound. Keep applying for the full period your doctor stated, usually two to four weeks, and for a week or two after the rash has cleared. Stopping when it looks better is why ringworm keeps coming back. Apply a little beyond the visible edge of the patch — the fungus extends further than the redness. Do not use a combination cream containing a steroid on a fungal infection unless a doctor has specifically prescribed it. The steroid calms the redness while the fungus spreads underneath. See a doctor if the rash covers a large area, involves the scalp or nails, or has not improved in two weeks — these usually need tablets as well.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Discard the bottle one month after you first open it. Keep out of the reach of children.
