Zacy Spas Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Drotaverine (80mg) + Aceclofenac (100mg). It is used for relief of spasmodic pain, inflammation such as abdominal cramps, intestinal spasms, biliary, renal colic and and painful menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhoea). It belongs to the group of medicines called Aceclofenac: NSAID; Drotaverine: Antispasmodic (PDE inhibitor).
Tablet to be taken by mouth as prescribed by a doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Zacy Spas Tablet are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and indigestion. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Zacy Spas Tablet works.
Most side effects of Zacy Spas are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Tablet to be taken by mouth as prescribed by a doctor. Usually taken after food to reduce stomach upset; swallow whole with water. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or duration.
Drotaverine is an antispasmodic that relaxes smooth muscles by inhibiting phosphodiesterase, thereby reducing muscle spasm and cramp pain. Aceclofenac is an NSAID that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis (COX inhibition).
NSAID-related risks: may cause stomach ulcer/bleeding; use with caution in patients with history of peptic ulcer, GI bleeding, or on blood thinners. Use cautiously in kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, hypertension, asthma/NSAID allergy, and in the elderly. Stop and seek medical help if you develop black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, swelling, breathing difficulty, or severe skin rash. Avoid using with other NSAIDs unless advised.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, confusion, blurred vision and difficulty passing urine. It can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
