How It Works
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Lactic Acid Bacillus is a probiotic that helps restore normal gut flora and may reduce antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
Directions for Use
Tablet/capsule for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; complete the full course even if you feel better.
Use only for bacterial infections. Do not use if allergic to cefixime/cephalosporins; inform doctor about history of severe penicillin allergy. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed) and in patients with history of colitis/antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Seek medical help for severe diarrhea, blood in stools, severe rash, breathing difficulty, or signs of allergy. Not for self-medication.
Drug Interactions
Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase bleeding risk/INR), probenecid (may increase cefixime levels), live oral typhoid vaccine (reduced effect), other antibiotics/antidiarrheals (doctor advice), nephrotoxic drugs (caution in renal impairment)
