What is this medicine used for?
Medical termination of pregnancy (as per approved regimen, usually with mifepristone), prevention/treatment of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers in high-risk patients, cervical ripening and induction of labour (only under specialist supervision where indicated).

How does this medicine work?
Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin E1 analogue. It reduces gastric acid secretion and increases mucus/bicarbonate protection in the stomach. In the uterus it causes cervical softening and uterine contractions, helping expel uterine contents.
How should I use this medicine?
Tablet for oral/buccal/sublingual/vaginal use only as prescribed. For ulcer prevention, usually taken with food and at bedtime; swallow with water. For obstetric/abortion indications, route and timing depend on protocol—use only under medical supervision and follow the exact regimen.
