Common questions

How often should HbA1c be checked?
Usually every three months while treatment is being adjusted, and at least twice a year when sugar is stable. Your doctor will say what suits you.
Do I need to fast for my blood test?
For fasting sugar and some cholesterol tests, yes: usually 8 to 10 hours with water only. HbA1c does not need fasting.
