When fever hits in the rains — the tests that tell dengue from typhoid from malaria
In the monsoon, a fever lasting more than a couple of days deserves testing, because the common causes — dengue, typhoid, malaria — look similar at first but are managed very differently. Getting the right tests early, at the right stage of illness, is what makes the difference.
This panel covers the usual suspects. Timing matters especially for dengue (the NS1 antigen is best in the first few days), so book early and see a doctor for any high or persistent fever — this checklist is guidance, not a substitute for care.
