Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg (as potassium clavulanate)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections, and some bone/joint infections.
Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby protecting amoxicillin and broadening its antibacterial coverage.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually with food (at the start of a meal) to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water at evenly spaced intervals and complete the full course even if you feel better.

Prescription-only antibiotic—do not use for viral infections. Avoid if allergic to penicillins/cephalosporins or if you have a history of amoxicillin-clavulanate–associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction. Use with caution in liver disease, renal impairment (dose adjustment may be needed), infectious mononucleosis (risk of rash). Seek urgent care for severe allergy (swelling, breathing difficulty), severe/persistent diarrhoea (possible C. difficile), or yellowing of eyes/skin.
