How A Clav 625 Tablet works

Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby protecting amoxicillin and broadening its antibacterial coverage.

How to take A Clav 625 Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually with food (at the start of a meal) to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water at evenly spaced intervals and complete the full course even if you feel better.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of LA Clav 625 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more A Clav than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of A Clav 625 Tablet

Most side effects of A Clav are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• indigestion
• headache
• skin rash
• oral/vaginal candidiasis

Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antibiotic—do not use for viral infections. Avoid if allergic to penicillins/cephalosporins or if you have a history of amoxicillin-clavulanate–associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction. Use with caution in liver disease, renal impairment (dose adjustment may be needed), infectious mononucleosis (risk of rash). Seek urgent care for severe allergy (swelling, breathing difficulty), severe/persistent diarrhoea (possible C. difficile), or yellowing of eyes/skin.

Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (may increase INR/bleeding risk), methotrexate (increased toxicity), allopurinol (increased rash risk), probenecid (increases amoxicillin levels), mycophenolate mofetil (may reduce MPA exposure), live oral typhoid vaccine (reduced response).

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
