Amlexanox 5% w/w oral paste
Treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (mouth ulcers/canker sores); helps reduce pain, redness and promotes healing of oral ulcers
Amlexanox is an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic agent. It inhibits release of inflammatory mediators (e.g., histamine and leukotrienes) from mast cells and reduces local inflammation, thereby decreasing pain and speeding ulcer healing.
For topical use in mouth only. Apply a small amount directly on the ulcer (after drying the area gently) usually 4 times daily—after meals and at bedtime—or as directed by a doctor. Avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes after application. Do not swallow intentionally.
Common side effects of AMLENOX ORAL PASTE may include:
For oral mucosal use only; avoid contact with eyes. Do not use if allergic to amlexanox. If symptoms persist beyond 10 days, ulcers are unusually large/frequent, or signs of infection occur, consult a doctor. Use with caution in children and in patients with severe oral infections; maintain oral hygiene. Stop and seek medical advice if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
