Treatment of Fungal infections

How Amocop Cream works

Amocop Cream contains Amorolfine and Phenoxyethanol, which treat fungal skin infections. Amorolfine is an antifungal medicine which stops the growth of fungi on the skin or nails by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Phenoxyethanol is a preservative.

How to take Amocop Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Amocop Cream, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Amocop than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Amocop Cream

Most side effects of Amocop are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Interactions with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Amocop. Some combinations can change how Amocop works or raise the chance of side effects.

How to store Amocop Cream

Store Amocop below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Amocop Cream has been prescribed for the treatment of fungal skin infection. It also helps in the treatment of nail infection. Keep using the medicine even after the symptoms of the infection have cleared up to prevent it from coming back. Avoid getting in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. When using for nail infections, avoid the use of nail varnishes and artificial nails. Do not share your nail-filer to prevent the spread of infection. Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after 5 days of treatment. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
